What is Generic Medicine?

A generic medicine is the same medicine as pharmaceutical medicine, containing the same component which branded medicine has. Generic medicine has the same active pharmaceutical ingredient. but it may have a small difference in packaging, colouring, taste, process and formulations.

These manufacturing companies may not be associated with any brand but they are subject to government regulation. A generic medicine must contain the same active ingredients as original medicine does. 

Feel Proud that India is the leading country in the generic drug market on Globe. In 2019-20 (April-March) India had export drugs with a value of US$ 20 billion. These drugs mainly exported to the US and the European Union. 

What is the difference between Generic Medicine and Branded Drugs?

As I mentioned above that Generic medicine has the same active pharmaceutical ingredient as branded medicine has. There is a  big difference between both of them is cost. There will be a difference in cost in average may up to 85%.. So you may get some generic medicine 85% cheaper than branded medicine.

जेनेरिक दवा क्या है?

जेनेरिक दवा भी ब्रांडेड दवा के समान ही दवा है, जिसमें एक ही घटक होता हैजो ब्रांडेड दवा में होता है। जेनेरिक दवा में एक ही सक्रिय दवा घटक होता है। लेकिन यह पैकेजिंग, रंग, स्वाद, प्रक्रिया और योगों में एक छोटा सा अंतर हो सकता है।

ये जेनेरिक दवा निर्माण कंपनियां किसी भी ब्रांड से जुड़ी नहीं हो सकती हैं, लेकिन वे सरकारी विनियमन के अधीन होती हैं। जेनेरिक दवा में वही सक्रिय तत्व का असर होना चाहिए जो मूल दवा करती है।

जेनेरिक दवा और ब्रांडेड दवा में क्या अंतर है?

जैसा कि मैंने ऊपर बताया है कि जेनेरिक दवा में वही सक्रिय दवाई होती है जो ब्रांडेड दवा की होती है। दोनों में लागत का बड़ा अंतर होता है। औसत लागत में 85% तक का अंतर आ जाता है| इसलिए आपको ब्रांडेड दवा की तुलना में कुछ जेनेरिक दवा 85% तक सस्ती मिल सकती है।
