The Golden Chariot (गोल्डन चेरियट)

Total Luxury trains in India are seven.  The Golden Chariot is one of them, Luxury Trains Tourism Concept started in Indian states after the launch of PLACE ON WHEELS by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. After that many other states i.e. Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Goa come with this type of tourism concept. After the success of PLACE ON WHEEL state Tourism planned to run this type of service to run in their region to attract more tourists and explore their heritage and promote their traditions. 

This is the first luxury train of South India. To run this train Karnataka State Tourism and Development Corporations and Indian Railway signed an MOU in 2002. The train came on the track on 23rd January 2008. There was tiredness effort to get this train on track. The has been decorated with violet and golden colour. Violet colour is the symbol of refinement and elegance while golden colour is the symbol of the golden jubilee celebration of State. Its logo has been designed with a lion body with the head of an Elephant. 

The architect Kusum Pendse with help of 200 other carpenters worked hard to execute the design of the coaches for this train. It had taken around 900 layouts by all engineers to finalize these designs for the first train of South India. There was no other option than hard work to complete this work and it reflects itself.

A ceremonial national flag was given to Golden Chariot by President of Indian Pratibha Devi Singh Patil on 2nd October 2008. Hotel Chain of Malapa Group was given the responsibility of Hospitality services on board. 

This train has 19 coaches. The window of each coach represents the ruling dynasties of the South and resonate with their architectural symbols. These 19 coaches have 44 cabins with very delight decoration. There are other amenities also in that i.e. LCD,  WiFi, AC, attached Washroom.

भारत में कुल  सात लक्जरी ट्रेनें हैं। गोल्डन चेरियट उनमें से एक है, राजस्थान पर्यटन निगम द्वारा PLACE ON WHEELS के शुभारंभ के बाद अन्य भारतीय राज्यों में लग्जरी टूरिज़्म ट्रेनों कॉन्सेप्ट की शुरुआत हुई। उसके बाद कई अन्य राज्य यानी कर्नाटक, केरल, तमिलनाडु और गोवा इस प्रकार की पर्यटन अवधारणा के साथ आए । PLACE ON WHEEL की सफलता के बाद कई राज्यों ने इस प्रकार की पर्यटन सेवा को अपने क्षेत्र में अधिक पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करने, अपनी विरासत का विस्तार करने और अपनी परंपराओं को बढ़ावा देने की योजना चलाने के लिए किया ।

यह दक्षिण भारत की पहली लक्जरी ट्रेन है। इस ट्रेन को चलाने के लिए कर्नाटक राज्य पर्यटन विकास निगम और भारतीय रेलवे ने 2002 में एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए। यह ट्रेन 23 जनवरी 2008 को ट्रैक पर आई। इस ट्रेन को पटरी पर लाने के लिए अथक कोशिश की गई। इसे बैंगनी और सुनहरे रंग से सजाया गया है। बैंगनी रंग शोधन और लालित्य का प्रतीक है जबकि स्वर्ण रंग राज्य के स्वर्ण जयंती समारोह का प्रतीक है। इसके चिन्ह को एक हाथी के सिर के साथ एक शेर के शरीर के साथ डिजाइन किया गया है।

 इस ट्रेन के कोचों के डिजाइन को निष्पादित करने के लिए वास्तुकार कुसुम पेंडसे ने 200 अन्य बढ़ई की मदद के साथ कड़ी मेहनत की। दक्षिण भारत की पहली ट्रेन के लिए इन डिज़ाइनों को अंतिम रूप देने के लिए सभी इंजीनियरों द्वारा लगभग 900 लेआउट लिए गए थे। इस काम को पूरा करने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत के अलावा और कोई विकल्प नहीं था और यह खुद प्रदर्शित होता है।

2 अक्टूबर 2008 को भारतीय अध्यक्ष  प्रतिभा देवी सिंह पाटिल जी के द्वारा गोल्डन चेरियट को एक औपचारिक राष्ट्रीय ध्वज दिया गया था। मालपा ग्रुप की होटल चेन को ट्रैन पैर आतिथ्य सेवाओं की जिम्मेदारी दी गई थी।

इस ट्रेन में 19 डिब्बे हैं। प्रत्येक डिब्बे की खिड़की दक्षिण के सत्तारूढ़ राजवंशों का प्रतिनिधित्व करती है और उनके स्थापत्य प्रतीकों के साथ प्रतिध्वनित होती है। इन 19 डिब्बों में बहुत प्रसन्न सजावट के साथ 44 केबिन हैं। इसमें अन्य सुविधाएं भी हैं यानी एलसीडी, वाईफाई, एसी, अटैच वॉशरूम।

• प्राइड ऑफ़ कर्नाटका 
• ज्वेल्स ऑफ़ साउथ 
• ग्लिम्प्स ऑफ़ कर्नाटका

1) प्राइड ऑफ़ कर्नाटका 

प्राइड ऑफ़ कर्नाटका  6 रात और 7 दिन का दौरा है। इसमें कर्नाटक के पर्यटन स्थल शामिल हैं। नीचे दिए गए गंतव्य नीचे हैं

• पहला दिन - बेंगलुरु से बांदीपुर
• दूसरा दिन -मिसोर
