• भारतीय रेलवे ने 40,000 रूट किमी (RKM) (ब्रॉड गेज कोर्स का 63%) से अधिक का विद्युतीकरण कार्य समाप्त कर दिया है, जिसमें 2014-20 के दौरान 18,605 किलोमीटर का कार्य समाप्त हो चुका है। इससे पहले 2009-14 की अवधि के दौरान सिर्फ 3,835 किमी का कार्य समाप्त हुआ था। भारतीय रेलवे ने वर्ष 2020-21 के लिए 7000 रूट किमी (RKM) के विद्युतीकरण का एक उद्देश्य तय किया है।

• भारतीय रेलवे, हाउसटॉप सोल बोर्ड (डेवलपर मॉडल) के माध्यम से 500 मेगावाट ऊर्जा की क्षमता को बढ़ाने का प्रयास कर रहा है। अब 245 मेगावाट की अनुमति दी गई है और इन पौधों की फलन के लिए फोकस दिसंबर 2022 है।
• भारत हेवी इलेक्ट्रिकल्स लिमिटेड (भेल) के साथ एक टीम के रूप में बीना (मध्य प्रदेश) में 1.7 मेगावाट का एक उद्यम प्रभावी रूप से पेश किया गया है और अब व्यापक परीक्षण के तहत है। यह ग्रह पर सूर्य द्वारा संचालित उपक्रम का पहला प्रकार है।

• इंडिया फर्स्ट ग्रीन रेल कॉरिडोर ने जुलाई 2016 में रामेश्वरम से मधुरई के बीच 114 KM की दूरी पर लॉन्च किया था। यह मार्ग रेल पटरियों पर पूरी तरह से शून्य शौचालय निर्वहन है।
• केवड़िया स्टेशन (गुजरात) को पहली ग्रीन बिल्डिंग के रूप में इंदान ग्रीन बिल्डिंग काउंसिल के साथ पंजीकृत किया गया है।
